RMS Signs 'Global Operation Programme' to Enhance Global Resource Allocation Capabilities
2021-01-04

On December 16, 2020, RMS Group, as one of the first batch of 41 member companies, signed Strategic Cooperation Memorandum of "Global Operator Programme" (“GOP”) with China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Administration Shanghai Free Zone Authority (hereinafter referred to as “Shanghai Free Zone Authority”) to further enhance global resource allocation capabilities.

The Global Operation Programme is developed to meet the needs of enterprises registered in Free Trade Zone to allocate global resources in the context of a new “dual circulation” economic landscape. It is a development programme jointly launched by Shanghai Free Zone Authority, local government agencies, business developers and enterprises registered in Free Trade Zone to achieve international expansion. “Global operator” refers to high-level headquarters that cover at least two continents and are involved in trade, investment, distribution or R&D.

In line with the needs of each member enterprise, the government and enterprises will negotiate to form a “1 plus x” package where “1” is professional service and “x” is support for enterprises’ development. The project aims to gather high-level market players, talent and global funds, help enterprises to expand to new markets, increase growth and strengthen their functional level; as well as cultivate a group of high quality enterprises with global resources in trade, investment, supply chains and R&D in three to five years. In five to 10 years the aim is to cultivate a group of leading global enterprises, occupy an overall leadership position in their fields, and form a leading demonstration effect in the country and even the world.

"It is a great honor and pleasure for RMS to be a part of the GOP! We are very grateful for the trust and support of the Shanghai Free Zone Authority. I wish our GOP project will be better and better and become an excellent platform gathering global multinational companies," Said Jack Wang, President of RMS Group. "RMS will also live up to its trust and continue to leverage Shanghai as the global headquarters to promote global business development and become the world's best shipping service company!"

With a solid foundation of 14 offices, 32,000 + m² warehouses and 10 workshops across Asia and Europe, RMS is committed to making the clients’ voyages simpler and safer with reliable and responsive services.  Joining the "Global Operation programme", RMS will take advantage of the strong support of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone to further strengthen the global shipping resource allocation function, enhance the agglomeration and radiation capabilities, and bring more efficient and convenient shipping service solutions to our global shipping customers.
